Kshara Sutra therapy is a minimal invasive Ayurvedic Parasurgical procedure and time-tested Ayurvedic technique in the management of Anorectal disorders. It is a safe, sure and cost-effective method of treatment for fistula-in-ano, haemorrhoids and other sinus diseases. Though the therapy has been described in Ayurveda by Sushruta, Charak and Vagbhata but the efficacy of this therapy was re-established by the Dept. of Shalya Tantra, Banaras Hindu University and later period revalidated by scientific organizations like CCRAS and ICMR. This technique is being practised widely in our country and some other countries.
Piles is another term for haemorrhoids. Haemorrhoids are collections of inflamed tissue in the anal canal. They contain blood vessels, support tissue, muscle, and elastic fibres. Piles occur due to chronic constipation, chronic diarrhoea, lifting heavy weights, pregnancy, or straining when passing a stool.
An anal fistula is a chronic abnormal communication between the epithelialised surface of the anal canal and usually the perianal skin. An anal fistula can be described as a narrow tunnel with its internal opening in the anal canal and its external opening in the skin near the anus.
A pilonidal sinus (PNS) is a small hole or tunnel in the skin. It may fill with fluid or pus, causing the formation of a cyst or abscess. It occurs in the cleft at the top of the buttocks. A pilonidal cyst usually contains hair, dirt, and debris. It can cause severe pain and can often become infected.
An anal fissure (fissure-in-ano) is a small, oval-shaped tear in skin that lines the opening of the anus. Fissures typically cause severe pain and bleeding with bowel movements. Fissures are quite common in the general population but are often confused with other causes of pain and bleeding, such as haemorrhoids.
